Thaumetopoea pityocampa

Otherwise known as the pine processionary are attacking one of my pine trees in the garden. Obviously on one of the highest limbs, I decided to take my Mavic Pro up to take a look at the nest. They are called processionary caterpillars because they march in a straight line when moving from one place to the next. The hairs they are covered in are toxic and cause irritation to lungs of humans and animals, that said it’s best to eliminate them for the health of the pine tree your animals and yourself. Next project mount flamethrower on DJI Mavic Pro.

Up On my tree, it’s higher than it looks.
The star marks the spot. Sunset so they will now come out to feed.
